Childen enjoy going FrenchTudhoe Grange School
added another busy day
to its academic year,
when it opened its doors
to children from year
five of its primary feeder
schools for a 'French
Transitions Day'. On
arrival at the school the
children went into
classes where a wide
range of French based
activities and quizzes
had been prepared for
them.
When they all got
together again in the
lower school hall at
about eleven o'clock,
they were rewarded for
their efforts with an ice
lolly served by Tudhoe
Grange students from
tables that had been set
up earlier, the only
requirement being that
they had to ask for
whichever flavour they
wanted in French!
The morning ended with
a song, but not just any
song of course, one sung
in French. New words
had been written to the
tune of 'The Twelve
Days of Christmas',
turning it into 'The
Waiter Song'.
After a very short
rehearsal time, the
children sang the song
from start to finish
without a hitch!
The great deal of
planning and
preparation that goes
into an apparently
simple event like this,
and that it all went so
smoothly says a lot for
the hard working staff
at Tudhoe Grange
School, who put on this
day during a week in
which Chinese visitors
were also in school.
