This story is from Spennynews, Issue 147 - 25th July 2009
Women's Running network sessionsAs part of its Young
Women’s Sport and
Active Recreation Project,
Durham County Council,
is introducing a new
running initiative. The six
week sessions get up and
running on 25 August at
Spennymoor Leisure
Centre from 5.45pm to
6.45pm. For those looking
to tone up, improve
physical fitness or perhaps
targeting a weight loss,
this class is ideal. An
intermediate class will run
alongside the beginners’
session at the same time.
The Young Women’s
Sport and Active
Recreation Project
focuses on young women
aged 16 to 25. It aims to
bring down barriers that
may prevent young
women from taking part
in sport and fitness
activities, and introduces
new and exciting sessions
geared exclusively
towards females of this
age group.
The project is about to
complete its first year of
activities with several
different sessions still
currently available across
the Sedgefield area. For
more information, call
01388 816166 Ext. 4512.
